I am curious about about your disenchantment with your drawing style.
I think the varied 'sketchy' black outlines in your work enhance the unique 'ragamuffin quaity of your character although aother colour choices or soft edged lines may also have worked well.
The character's shading provides enough dimension to contrast well against the subtle textures of the background.
I find the elongation and slightly awkward positioning of you figure gives her an appealing shyness, which is evocatively contrasted with the minimal feminine dress.
My only minor criticism is about the 'generic' expression on her face although I know from personal struggles how hard subtle expressions are.
